Flip Florence took an outing with the 500 Touring club earlier in the Summer, taking all 6 of their classic cinquecento cars into the countryside of Tuscany. There was local Chianti wine with lunch by the poolside of a beautiful villa in the Tuscan countryside and time to chill out before setting off back to Florence. This has to be the best Florence Tour if you are looking for a day trip out of the city.

Ferrara Classic Car Rally, Italy 2009

In September, the Italian town of Ferrara hosts an annual classic car rally in the centre of town. Classics from Italian manufacturers such as Alfa Romeo and Fiat sit alongside timeless models from Porsche, Mercedes Benz and Jaguar.

The historic centre of Ferrara is taken over by automobiles from all eras, going back as far as the 1920′s. Beautifully restored MGs sit outside pavement cafes whilst pedestrianised streets allow cars of a certain marque to remain for just one day to be admired by car enthusiasts and families. Although Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Lancia are all present, the most impressive collections this year were from Porsche and Mercedes Benz, so much so that it merits a separate video which will be coming in the next few weeks.
